Helena, MT – The largest progressive group of veterans in America, with over 360,000 supporters, VoteVets.org PAC, is endorsing Lt. Gov. John Walsh in his race to become Montana’s next Senator.
“John Walsh has the rare mix of experience and service that will make him a fantastic Senator that Montanans can be proud of,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran, and Chairman of VoteVets.org. “From Iraq to Helena, John’s life has been about service to the people of this state and this nation. Most of all, he’s a straight shooter, in true Montana fashion. He’ll tell it like it is, in Washington.”
John Walsh is a fourth-generation Montanan from the mining town of Butte. His father was a union pipefitter for the Anaconda Company. His mother was a homemaker. During his freshman year in college, John enlisted in the Montana National Guard, beginning a distinguished 33-year career in military service. He retired as adjutant general of the Guard. And as a battalion commander, he led more than 700 Montanans into combat in Iraq.
