In Light Of Bombshell Report on Putin, VoteVets Calls on Generals Mattis, Kelly to Take Names Out of Consideration for Trump Jobs

WASHINGTON - VoteVets, the largest progressive group of veterans in America, released the following statement tonight, following a bombshell report from NBC News that Vladimir Putin was personally involved in the hacks of the DNC and Clinton campaign, to help Donald Trump.  Jon Soltz, Iraq War veteran and Chair of VoteVets said:

“Reports tonight that US intelligence has concluded with ‘high confidence’ that Vladmir Putin personally directed hacking of the United States to help Donald Trump win the election requires drastic and immediate action.

Until such time as an independent Congressional investigation can determine that the appointments of Mike Flynn and Rex Tillerson were not a ‘returned favor’ to the Russian regime, we believe it is incumbent upon Generals Mattis and Kelly to remove their names from consideration for the posts to which they have been nominated.

Generals Mattis and Kelly are men of high character.  Until real and emerging questions regarding the corruption of the top security apparatus of the incoming administration by the Russian regime are answered and cleared, it is in their best interest, and in the best interest of the security of the United States, for them to remain untainted.”
