VoteVets Announces New Partnership With NextGen Climate Action

Washington, DC – The largest progressive veterans group in America, with over 400,000 members, VoteVets Action Fund, is proud to announce a renewed partnership with NextGen Climate, a 501c4 founded by environmentalist Tom Steyer to “prevent climate disaster and preserve American prosperity.”

As part of the partnership, in California, VoteVets will use its wide network of veterans to engage members of the California State Assembly to support two key bills; SB 32 and SB 35.  Those bills will have a dramatic effect on pushing a clean energy and climate change agenda in the state, by setting ambitious goals to:

●      Increase from one-third to 50 percent electricity derived from renewable sources

●      Reduce petroleum use in cars and trucks by up to 50 percent

●      Double the energy efficiency of existing buildings

●      Reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050

Founded in 2006,  and backed by over 400,000 supporters, the mission of VoteVets.org is to use public issue campaigns and direct outreach to lawmakers to ensure that troops abroad have what they need to complete their missions, and receive the care they deserve when they get home.  VoteVets.org also recognizes veterans as a vital part of the fabric of our country and will work to protect veterans' interests in their day-to-day lives.   VoteVets.org is committed to the destruction of terror networks around the world - with force when necessary - to protect America.  While non-partisan, the group is the largest progressive organization of veterans in America.
