VoteVets Cheers EPA Decision On RFS

Washington, DC – The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets.org, today is cheering the ruling by the EPA to increase the volume of renewable fuels used in the nation’s fuel supply, breaking through the so-called “blend wall.”

“Today’s ruling to move past the so-called ‘blend wall’ will help advance America’s energy independence, and security,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets.org.  “What becomes more and more clear, every day, is that America’s oil dependence helps fund many groups and regimes that would do us harm.  The Renewable Fuel Standard is a key part of reducing our dependence on oil, and breaking through the blend wall will move us further off oil.  That’s good for our security.”

VoteVets has strongly supported increased use of renewable fuels as a means to support America’s energy security, gaining thousands upon thousands of signatures in support of the RFS, which the group delivered to the EPA.  VoteVets has also organized a top group of retired Generals to advocate for the RFS as a matter of national security.

Founded in 2006,  and backed by over 400,000 supporters, the mission of VoteVets.org is to use public issue campaigns and direct outreach to lawmakers to ensure that troops abroad have what they need to complete their missions, and receive the care they deserve when they get home.  VoteVets.org also recognizes veterans as a vital part of the fabric of our country and will work to protect veterans' interests in their day-to-day lives.   VoteVets.org is committed to the destruction of terror networks around the world - with force when necessary - to protect America. While non-partisan, the group is the largest progressive organization of veterans in America.
