VoteVets Cheers Mowrer Win in Iowa

DES MOINES, IA - The largest progressive group of veterans in America, with over 400,000 supporters, VoteVets PAC, is cheering the victory of one of its endorsed candidates, in last night’s primary - Jim Mowrer for Congress in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District in Congress.  Mowrer won the Democratic primary last evening and will move on to the general election.

“We’re so proud of what Jim has accomplished, and can’t wait to help him in any way we can, to ensure he is the next representative of the 3rd District,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets PAC.

“Jim Mowrer’s life has been defined by service – service to his country, service to his fellow troops, and service to Iowa,” he added.  “Dedication to serving others is something that’s lacking on Capitol Hill.  And, with Jim, it’s not just something he’s dedicated to, it’s something he’s passionate about.  There is no doubt that, as Congressman, Jim Mowrer will always put the people back home first, even above himself, like he’s always done.  He will be a Congressman that people can be proud of.”

Founded in 2006, the mission of Political Action Committee is to elect Veterans to public office, with a focus on Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, and hold public officials accountable for their words and actions that impact America's 21st century troops and veterans. Though PAC is non-partisan, candidates it backs must support's core mission and beliefs.
