VoteVets congratulates Tammy Duckworth for Primary Win; Vows to stand with her in the genera

Chicago, IL – VoteVets PAC, the largest progressive group of veterans in America, cheered Tammy Duckworth’s nomination for the Senate seat in Illinois, tonight.  VoteVets raised over $50,000 for Duckworth – all in small donations, and endorsed her.

“This is a huge win for veterans and progressives,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets.  “Tammy is one of our closest allies, and has always had our back.  In the general, she can count on us having hers.  If Mark Kirk challenges her service or patriotism, we will be right there to stand up to him and fight for Tammy.”

In addition to the PACs activities, VoteVets Action Fund, a 501c4, spent $600,000 on ads promoting Duckworth.

Founded in 2006, the mission of Political Action Committee is to elect Veterans to public office, with a focus on Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, and hold public officials accountable for their words and actions that impact America's 21st century troops and veterans. Though PAC is non-partisan, candidates it backs must support's core mission and beliefs.
