VOTEVETS ENDORSES RACHEL REDDICK FOR CONGRESS
Bucks County, PA – On the heels of the stunning victory for veteran Conor Lamb, in the 18th District of Pennsylvania, the largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets PAC, is today endorsing veteran Rachel Reddick to be the next US Representative for the 1st District of Pennsylvania.
“Rachel Reddick has service running through her veins, and that’s why she’s going to be a great servant to her community, in Congress,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chair of VoteVets PAC. “Rachel was blessed with a really sharp mind, but rather than use it to earn millions as a high-powered lawyer, she used it to become a legal advocate for survivors of domestic abuse, and then to serve her country in the Navy. That’s what we need in Washington right now – not more people looking to use politics to help themselves. From a policy perspective, Rachel has a keen understanding of the security challenges facing America today, from her time in the military, and her voice will be an extremely important one in ensuring Congress acts as a check on an increasingly chaotic situation, in the White House.”
According to her biography, Rachel Reddick’s father and grandfather served in the Navy, in Vietnam and World War II, respectively. Rachel was inspired by her family to serve her community and her country. She graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia and returned home to work as a legal advocate for survivors of domestic abuse with A Woman’s Place, the Bucks County Domestic Violence Agency. After aiding survivors through the judicial system Rachel understood the transformative power of the law in people’s lives and decided to pursue a law degree at Rutgers Law School. While in law school, Rachel followed in her father and grandfather’s footsteps and joined the U.S. Navy as a Judge Advocate General (JAG).
Rachel served on active duty for six years as a military prosecutor, advisor to military commanders, and representative for service members. In 2012, she was appointed as a Special United States Attorney and prosecuted for the Navy in federal court. In 2013, Rachel deployed on an amphibious warship in the Pacific, the same seas her Grandfather served in during WWII.
Founded in 2006, the mission of VoteVets.org Political Action Committee is to elect Veterans to public office, with a focus on Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, and hold public officials accountable for their words and actions that impact America’s 21st century troops and veterans.
