VoteVets Endorsers Tom Cullerton

VILLA PARK, IL – The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets PAC, with over 400,000 supporters, is announcing its endorsement of Tom Cullerton for Congress, today.

“Tom’s record of public service, and dedication to those who need a strong representative, the most, will serve the constituents of Eighth District well,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets.org.  “In particular, we’re so proud to endorse a veteran, who hasn’t forgotten his fellow veterans.  It shows that Tom remembers where he came from, and will always remain dedicated to serving his community.”

According to his campaign bio, Tom Cullerton is a veteran of the United States Army who served as an 11H TOW Gunner and combat medic, until being honorably discharged in 1993. Tom has served as State Senator for the 23rd Legislative District, since winning the seat in 2012. Tom has led efforts improve the lives of veterans in the legislature. Tom has sponsored legislation that set up a Suicide Prevention Task-Force for veterans and streamlined processes for disabled veterans to receive their handicap placards.

In addition to his military service and public service record, Tom is involved in Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, Citizen’s Police Academy, and the Villa Park Chamber of Commerce.

Founded in 2006, the mission of VoteVets.org Political Action Committee is to elect Veterans to public office, and hold public officials accountable for their words and actions that impact America’s 21st century troops and veterans. Though VoteVets.org PAC is non-partisan, candidates it backs must support VoteVets.org’s core mission and beliefs.  Since its inception, in 2006, VoteVets PAC has raised and donated nearly $1 million for its endorsed candidates.
