A liberal-group that often attacked Republican U.S. Rep.  in 2012 is back this election cycle with a TV ad assailing the incumbent for supporting “tax breaks for .” has been on the air for several days with an ad targeting Coffman — who is vying for a fourth-term — as standing with big oil companies and not Colorado veterans.

“America’s addiction to foreign oil helps fund the same terrorists who would harm our troops fighting overseas,” says the narrator Brian Esquibel, an Aurora veteran.

In an email blast from the Coffman campaign Tuesday, , a WWII veteran and Arapahoe County Realtor, castigates the group for targeting Coffman, who himself served in the U.S. Army and Marine Corp. and did tours in Iraq.

“One of the brave men who has voluntarily served our nation in great and grave conflicts is our Congressman, Mike Coffman. Mike is the only member of Congress to have served in both Iraq wars,” writes Marks. “Mike is a veterans’ veteran.”

Two year’s ago,  hammered Coffman relentlessly on social media in the days after the congressman’s so-called “un-American”comments about Presidents Barack Obama.

Coffman is being challenged this cycle by Democrat , a former state lawmaker who has in recent fundraising quarters has managed to outpace the incumbent congressman in fundraising.
