VoteVets PAC Endorses Jimmy Panetta for Congress

CARMEL VALLEY, CA -  The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets PAC, is today endorsing Jimmy Panetta for Congress, on behalf of the group’s over 400,000 veterans, military families, and civilian supporters.

“Now, more than ever, we need someone like Jimmy Panetta in the House of Representatives,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets PAC.  “Not only does he have the experience, expertise, and unique perspective to help Congress make wise decisions on national security issues, but his deep dedication to his fellow veterans, and his community is unquestioned.  He will be someone the people of the 20th District will be proud to call Congressman.”

According to his campaign biography, in 2003, Jimmy was commissioned as an Officer with the United States Navy Reserve.  In 2007, Panetta was mobilized to active duty with a Special Operations task force and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  Based on his service as an Intelligence Officer for a Special Forces team, Panetta was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service.

Jimmy serves on the Board of Directors for the Monterey County Veterans Transition Center and the Central Coast Veterans Cemetery Foundation, among other groups.

Founded in 2006, the mission of Political Action Committee is to elect Veterans to public office, with a focus on Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, and hold public officials accountable for their words and actions that impact America's 21st century troops and veterans. PAC is non-partisan, candidates it backs must support's core mission and beliefs.
