VoteVets Reacts to Release of New Renewable Fuel Obligations Under the Renewable Fuel Standard

WASHINGTON – Today, the veterans group VoteVets.org reacted to the release of the Renewable Volume Obligations (RVO) under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), by the Obama administration.  In a statement, retired Major General Paul D. Eaton, senior advisor to VoteVets said:

“Biofuels are an extremely important component of an energy future where America gets off fossil fuels.  Our dependence on oil drives up demand and prices, benefitting hostile regimes, whether we buy oil directly from them, or not.  Getting off oil is a matter of national security.  We continue to watch for signals from the White House and EPA that they will do all they can do to support a strong Renewable Fuel Standard, that gets America off oil, and makes us more secure.”

Founded in 2006, and backed by over 400,000 supporters, the mission of VoteVets.org Action Fund is to use public issue campaigns and direct outreach to lawmakers to ensure that troops abroad have what they need to complete their missions, and receive the care they deserve when they get home.  VoteVets.org also recognizes veterans as a vital part of the fabric of our country and will work to protect veterans' interests in their day-to-day lives.   VoteVets.org is committed to the destruction of terror networks around the world - with force when necessary - to protect America. While non-partisan, the group is the largest progressive organization of veterans in America.
