VoteVets Vows to Join Efforts to Defeat Latest Muslim Ban
WASHINGTON, DC - The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets, is reiterating its opposition to the latest version of Donald Trump's Muslim ban, and is questioning the timing of the release of the ban itself.
In a statement, Will Fischer, Iraq War Veteran and VoteVets Director of Government Relations said in a statement:
"This misguided executive order undermines the work our troops are currently doing to defeat ISIS, and endangering their lives, by once again sending the message that this is a war against Islam, particularly Muslims from the Middle East.
"We wholeheartedly agree with the two leaked DHS memos stating that the rationale behind Donald Trump's Muslim ban is faulty. Therefore, VoteVets will continue to join all lawsuits to stop this executive order in its tracks and protect our troops, and our nation's security.
"It must also be noted that this executive order is being rushed out in a moment when Donald Trump's sanity is under real question. Donald Trump's paranoid reaction to an article in Breitbart, this weekend, inspires no confidence that he is of sound mind, and in any shape to be in command of our military and nuclear arsenal, let alone sign executive orders."
