NO Privatization of Veterans Care;

NO Dismantling of Renewable Fuel Programs;

YES on Hearings for Garland

Poll also shows tighter than expected race for Clinton; Trump cruising to win

HARRISBURG, PA – A new Public Policy Polling (PPP) poll, commissioned by VoteVets Action Fund, shows that likely primary voters in both parties strongly oppose any efforts to privatize veterans health programs and dismantle renewable fuel efforts, while supporting a vote for President Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court.

The results on the issues cross party lines, and may spell trouble for Senator Pat Toomey, who has led efforts to gut the Renewable Fuel Standard, and has the support of groups seeking to privatize veterans care.  Toomey also opposes hearings and a vote on the nomination of Merrick Garland.

Among the findings:

“These numbers are really bad for Senator Toomey,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of  “He’s out of step with Pennsylvanians – even those within his party – on a number of issues.  This polling shows some real gaping holes in his armor, that his opponent in the general election will be able to easily exploit.”

The poll also found Hillary Clinton on a way to a 10-point victory in the Commonwealth (51-41 over Senator Sanders), which is closer than other recent polls. Meanwhile, it found Donald Trump with an overwhelming 51-25 lead over Senator Cruz, with Governor Kasich pulling in 22 percent.
