VOTEVETS ENDORSES GINA ORTIZ JONES FOR CONGRESS

San Antonio, TX – The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets PAC, is today endorsing Gina Ortiz Jones for Congress. The group backed her previous campaign for Congress, in 2018, which went down to the wire.

“Now is the time for real leaders to be sent to Washington, and that is who Gina is,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War veteran and Chairman of VoteVets PAC.  “The time for strong, energetic, and principled leadership is now.  Gina has the experience and smarts to push for policies that actually keep America safe and secure. She doesn’t just talk tough.  But, most importantly, Gina’s sense of service is also sorely needed in DC. She puts others, and country and Texas, above herself. We need that mentality in the halls of Congress. That’s why we’re endorsing her, proudly.”

Gina Ortiz Jones is an Iraq War veteran, who served as a U.S. Air Force intelligence officer under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” Gina advised on intelligence operations in Latin America and Africa, and would later advise on economic and national security issues in the Executive Office of the President. She was commissioned in 2003, after attending Boston University on an ROTC scholarship.
