VoteVets PAC Endorses Brendan Kelly for Congress

BELLEVILLE, IL - VoteVets is today endorsing Brendan Kelly in his campaign for Congress.

“Brendan’s life is about service to others, and that’s the kind of mindset we need in Washington, right now,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chair of VoteVets. "From serving in the Middle East, to fighting crime, Wall Street swindles, big pharma and the opioid epidemic here at home, Brendan knows how to take on the tough fights, and win. The people of the district can’t ask for more than that from a public official, right now. In this dangerous and unsteady times, we need Brendan in Washington."

The grandson of an Army veteran, the son of two lifelong DOD public servants supporting our military and veterans, the son-in-law of an Air Force veteran, the nephew of an Army veteran, the brother to a Navy veteran, the brother-in-law to a Marine Corps veteran and active duty member of the Navy, Brendan is a veteran of the United States Navy himself.

He came to Southern Illinois over thirty years ago when his parents were stationed at Scott Air Force Base.  After graduating from Notre Dame with a ROTC scholarship Brendan was commissioned in the United States Navy. He served in the Middle East and saw firsthand the conditions that have given rise to the global war on terrorism.  He later served on the USS Heron MHC-52 as a surface warfare officer, mine warfare officer, supply officer and voting officer.
